Introduction to Structured Products
|
Introduction to structured products is an online tutorial that explains how issuers
create structured products along with the risks and advantages of investing in structured
products. Advisors will learn how various underlying assets can be combined with
several payout structures in order to support their client's investment objectives.

Principal Protected Structures |
Principal Protectect Structures are any structured notes or strucutred certificates
of deposit that offer 100% Principal Protection when held to maturity. These structures
typically forego a coupon in exchange for participation in an underlying asset.
In its simplest form, a Principal Protectect Structure can be thought of as a zero
coupon CD or bond combined with a derivative component, usually represented in the
form of options.

Accelerated Return Notes |
Accelerated Return Notes, or ARNs, are senior unsecured debt securities issued by
Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. (ML&Co.) that offer investors the opportunity to earn
three times the upside appreciation potential of the underlying security, index
or basket of securities, up to a specific cap, while only risking one for one on
the downside.

Reverse Convertible Notes |
Reverse Convertible Notes (RCNs) are short-term, coupon-bearing notes designed to
provide enhanced yield while participating in certain equity-like risks. Available
in various structures and risk-return profiles, RCNs can act as an important tool
when structuring diversified portfolios.
